Creating an Heirloom Bear
As the following images reveal, each Heirloom Bear is masterfully created by hand. Attention to detail, and special added touches, result in a one-of-a-kind collectable to be enjoyed for generations to come!
Step 1 - The Coat
It all starts when you send in your coat. It really doesn't matter whether you use UPS or the Post Office. As long as the label is clearly written, there is never a problem. Insurance is inexpensive, use it if you wish, but choose a low amount.
Step 2 - Stripping the liner and opening up the sleeves.
Using special blades and large scissors the coat is spread open on our work table and the lining and sleeves are carefully removed. At this time we will carefully observe the direction and loft of the fur. We pick the best places to cut the pieces for the bear.
Step 3 - Laying out the patterns.
Special satin liners are chemically attached to the back of the fur. This not only preserves and strengthens the material but gives us the basic pattern shapes.
Step 4 - Prepare for Sewing
With razor knives we carefully remove the pattern shapes and prepare for sewing.
Step 5
Our special machines give your bear that "finished look".
Step 6 - Special Touches
No bear could be complete without the special hand finishing touch of the artist.
Step 7 - The Finished Product
Your huggable, one of a kind, Heirloom Bear is ready for your family. Don't forget that personalizing also makes it special.
